Why I Do what I do?

I’m going to be 60 next month. I love to travel, golf, hike, bike, meditate and cook for family and friends. But, I probably don’t do those things as much as I’d like.

That’s because I spend most of my time keeping entrepreneur’s hours. When you have a small business, or a few of them, business is on your mind a lot. In my case it’s not 24×7. It’s more what the Chinese are calling “996” – working 9am to 9pm for six days a week. That seems accurate.

But, it’s all good. I really like living full on. I want to contribute to life until the day I die. I’m certainly NEVER bored.

Happily, this morning, I ran across this video that Travel Alberta did a few years ago when they featured me as a model for collaboration at their annual conference. It reminded me why I do what I do.

If you watch it, you’ll see living an entrepreneur’s life and realizing the dream of helping others with my business really helps me savour it all. And, it makes the days when I travel, golf, hike, bike, meditate and cook all the sweeter.

Thanks for coming along on the journey. I hope I’m helping you savour it all too.

Cool thing No. 59 on this blog.
