Big, fat and juicy – just how a burger ought to be.

Ingredients

2 lbs ground bison

½ pound bacon bits (I use Valbella bacon bits cause they’re awesome)

1 Tablespoon ground sage

2 teaspoons ground dried juniper berries

1 cup saskatoon berries

Salt and Pepper

Instructions

  1. Place the bison, bacon bits, sage, ground juniper berries and saskatoon berries in a bowl and mix thoroughly with your hands.
  2. Form 8 patties and sprinkle the tops with salt and pepper.
  3. Cook on a medium-high grill to desired doneness.
  4. Enjoy with your favourite toppings. My family like fried mushrooms and onions.
