These S’more Krispie Treats came to be because July hit and I could not get the idea of campfires and s’mores out of my head. Not able to get out camping, I decided to bring the fun of s’mores alive with a riff on good ol’ Rice Krispie Treats. Those treats already have the marshmallows. I added crushed chocolate covered Digestive Cookies in place of graham crackers and a piece of chocolate bar.
They were a big hit with my hiking group and will definitely hold me over until I can enjoy the real deal over a campfire this summer. Hope you’ll give them a try. Let me know if you do.Print

In your comments re the recipe you mentioned you added a piece of chocolate bar yet your actual recipe doesn’t mention it?
Hi Carol, It says to use chocolate-covered Digestive cookies IN PLACE OF or instead of graham cracker and a piece of chocolate bar. Should I change in place of to instead of? Would that be more clear? Thanks for helping me be as clear as possible. I truly appreciate that you read my blog and cook the recipes. You ROCK! K
Ok, Now I see where I might have misread it, thinking you also added a piece of choc bar as well as the choc covered cookies. My question to myself was how much choc bar did she put in? All in how you read it! Ha! Ha! I am making them tonight! Thanks for responding!
Awesome Carol. Hope you enjoy them. K
