Pumpkin Spice Martini

  • 1.5 ounces Rumchata
  • 1 ounce Eau Claire Distillery Three Point Vodka
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 Tablespoons pumpkin pie puree
  • ice and a cocktail shaker and strainer
  • cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice or freshly grated nutmeg

Combine the Rumchata, vodka, vanilla, pumpkin puree, and ice in a shaker and shake like crazy.
Strain into a martini glass and sprinkle with the spice of your choice.

Cheers to a Happy Thanksgiving!
Last night we enjoyed a “progressive dinner” slash block party to celebrate Thanksgiving. Appetizers and drinks were hosted at the first home, everyone brought mains and sides to the second home where the hosts set up sturdy but very temporary tables and a dessert buffet was presented at a third home.

One very organized neighbour triaged the work involved (very grateful to her especially). There were dishes flying all over the neighbourhood. They landed where they were needed and were whisked back to kitchen sinks to soak while the party moved onto the next course.

It was easy on everyone. I’m truly grateful to have such friends. I hope you will find a way to enjoy the pumpkin martini recipe above and that you’ll have the gift of friends who are your chosen family too. Blessings to you and yours this weekend and always.

Enjoy some feasting, be grateful to the people who grew the food and prepared it for you, savour it all and then go for a hike!
